An Overview of the Center for Biblical Ministries
CBM has reached out to two generations of believers with special emphasis on ministry to small churches and to teaching the Word of God to men and women who do not have access to good Bible teaching. We are currently expanding our web presence in order to make our teaching resources readily available to more people.
Who ARE We Anyway?

Jim Steel teaches Bible and theology at Cornerstone Bible Institute in Hot Springs, SD. where his wife Anne also serves as Dean of Women.
In addition to his various duties at Cornerstone Jim conducts in-depth Bible and missions conferences, mostly in the Midwest and in California.
Jim also conducts Mini-Conferences on Hebrews, The New Covenant Ministry, Revelation, Messiah in the Prophets, Dispensationalism, Bible Prophecy, Missions, and Beginning and Advanced Bible Interpretation courses. All such conference ministries are conducted on a free-will offering basis and are without obligation of any sort except that participating churches must be in general agreement with our doctrinal statement.
Robert and Kristin Thompson provide much of the
logistical support for this ministry who also assist in the development of
our materials and maintenance of our web site. Both Bob and Kristin have
advanced educational degrees and both teach high school. Both are
available for Bible studies in the Rocklin,
California area. Contact us for more info.
In this world of mega-churches, automated email responses, and endless voice mail loops our goal is simply to carry out a personal teaching ministry to folks who are genuinely hungry for God's Word. In a day when most Sunday messages are sermonettes for Christianettes, we want to provide a healthy diet of Bible teaching. Most importantly, you will find that each of the bible studies and messages you will find on this site are focused on the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the center of it all.
Contrary to what you might be hearing, one's doctrinal position is very important. All wrong thinking is ultimately wrong thinking about God. It always leads to wrong behavior, and "wrong" consequences! At CBM we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. It gets even worse! We'll gladly embrace all those unpopular labels such as fundamental, dispensational, Premillennial, and Pretribulation Rapturist. But just in case you are not familiar with all those terms, we have included a good summary of our doctrinal position for you to read.
Who is this web site geared for?
Hungry bears of all ages! When you're ready to g-r-o-w, we're ready to h-e-l-p. However, if you are now attending a fundamental, Bible-believing church, you need to share this web site with your pastor so that he can have input on what you are learning.
Can others be a part of this ministry team?
It may be that, after seeing our doctrinal statement and using some of our materials, you will want to consider participating personally in our ministry. If you have a track record of living for Jesus Christ and you are in doctrinal agreement with us we would be pleased to talk with you concerning your own involvement with our mission. We are fully incorporated in the State of California and are recognized under the I.R.S. Code 501.c3.
