The bad news is that you can't trust it! The Bible says that your heart is deceitful and NOT to be trusted. We all weave tangled webs to help us deny the ugly reality about who we are and what we are really capable of. The Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things, desperately wicked, and unknowable. Jeremiah 17:9
The good news is that God wants to change our hearts. In fact, he wants to give us new ones. He dies this by bringing us into a living relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Entering this relationship with Jesus is so simple that even a child can come to know Him. You can step right into this relationship with Him in a matter of minutes. John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
If you are longing to fill that vacuum that is within you, we urge you to turn to God in simple repentance, asking Him to forgive your sins on the basis of the fact that Jesus died to take away your sins. Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Because He was raised again from the dead you can have new life right now! John 4:13
You can either take your chances and rest in your own good works (an impossible thought!) or rest in the work which Jesus Christ has already done for you. You see, salvation is nothing more than resting in what Jesus did for you when He died on the cross. Romans 10:2,3; Romans 10:9-13.
